Business Services Committee: Works to enhance school business/management services and leadership, and to strengthen effectiveness and efficiency through regionalization of purchase and delivery efforts.
Communication Committee:Develops strategies to promote PREP and its work and to enhance public understanding about timely educational issues; monitors and serves as a proactive voice in the education policy arena. Collaboration with Maine Department of Education.
Curriculum Coordinators: Plans for and provides leadership for implementation of the Maine Learning Results and Local Assessment Systems; develops and helps carry out staff development to ensure successful implementation.
Guidance Services: Discusses and sets goals for delivering school guidance services that place an increased emphasis on college and career planning and engage guidance professionals in leading school change and reform. Collaboration with the Mitchell Institute.
Professional Development: Initiates, plans and facilitates professional development activities for Partnership schools and educators.
Response to Intervention:
Systemic Inquiry & Research: Examines issues in teaching and learning; refines and assesses Partnership activities and development based on strategic plan indicators.
Secondary School Initiative: Addresses special needs of secondary schools such as responding to state and national initiatives for high school graduation and other reform efforts.
Special Education:Focuses on: planning, training and implementing a Response to Intervention model for identifying children with learning disabilities; and on identifying common needs and regionalizing providers for psychological, physical and occupational therapy and speech services.
Task Forces: Works on targeted timely topics; established as needed.
Teacher Preparation: Plans collaorative preparation and support of pre-service and practicing educators in Professional Development Schools, which provide a realistic learning laboratory for aspiring and novice teachers and for university and school faculty jointly investigating questions of teaching and learning.
