Special meeting of Committee on March 22, 8-2 in Senior Skulls Room, Memorial Union
Begin developing a memo about Teacher Prep Committee goal/activity #4:
– To develop a plan for PDSs that covers operations (roles and
responsibilities of school and University partners) costs (time, talent, money) and benefits – include a short definition of a PDS – What needs does PDS address?
VI. Questions/Concerns/Needs:
Needs methods faculty member(s) on Teacher Prep Committee
Need people on this committee who have served as mentor teachers
Should look at strengths of PPT model to incorporate in PDS model
Should have a K-12 teacher from this committee to replace Mary Smith on TEF and Field Experience Committee or a K-12 principal who could send a teacher as an alternate.
VII. Next Steps:
– Ask Bob Cobb to include announcement of special meeting 3/22 on PDSs in his presentation to superintendents.
– Special meeting packet: PDS rubric, incentives & obstacles survey data, historical overview from Mary Bagley–Pam will compile, to be handed out at meeting.
– Send memo to superintendents via Bob Cobb and by mail to new committee members about committee goals/activities
– Send parking permits and directions to room to each committee members.
